Sotbify is seeking a Risk/Data Analyst to join our Software Engineering team. The candidate must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the developers needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. In this role, the successful candidate will be working for Chilton, a leading U.S. hedge fund and wealth management company.
Products that need to be supported and maintained include internally managed US and European long and long/short equity as well as a suite of credit products on the wealth management side of the business.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Fulfil data and reporting requests from Risk, Accounting, Trading, Investor Relations and Research Groups
- Interact with all levels of Management and portfolio managers regarding risk analytics requests
- Monitor and assure data quality
- Maintain and update investment databases using or establish automated processes
- Research, analyse and help improve investment data and data flows
- Play a key role in supporting the Research function through a focus on the evaluation and
- acquisition of data for potential new investment and risk factors
- Identify new fundamental drivers and data sources for stock selection, work on factor
- formulation and testing
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and understand importance to the attention to urgent requests
- Some experience with SQL
- Script, procedural, or object-oriented languages like Python is a plus
- General knowledge in financial market and financial engineering is a plus.
- Proficiency with Bloomberg analytics and Factset is a plus
- Intermediate English is a plus Education and/or Experience:
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Math and/or Finance
- Minimum Experience Requirements: 0 - 2 years of experience in financial services firm
